Anita Hotchkiss and Michael D. Shalhoub Named Fellows of the Litigation Counsel of America October 2014
Goldberg Segalla partners Anita Hotchkiss and Michael D. Shalhoub, Co-Chairs of the law firm’s Life Sciences Practice Group, have been named Fellows of the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA), an invitation-only honorary society with membership limited to 3,500 of the best trial lawyers in America.
The LCA is dedicated to recognizing highly qualified lawyers, promoting superior advocacy and ethical standards, and advancing a superior judiciary. Representing only one-half of one percent of American lawyers, fellows are selected and invited based on their accomplishments and excellence in litigation and trial work, along with ethical reputation.
Anita is a trial attorney with nearly 40 years of experience defending companies and individuals in the state and federal trial and appellate courts. Her practice emphasizes complex pharmaceutical, medical device, and other products liability cases; mass torts; class actions; and medical and legal professional liability matters. She has tried over 35 cases and is one of the few attorneys in the country who has tried a medical monitoring class action. She has an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been named repeatedly in New Jersey Super Lawyers, with special citation as one of the top 50 women attorneys in New Jersey.
Mike is a proven trial lawyer who focuses his practice on product liability defense for the medical device and pharmaceutical industries. He serves as Chair of the International Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel’s Product Liability Section and is a former Chair of the FDCC’s Drug, Medical Device, and Biotechnology Section. He is also a former member of the Defense Research Institute’s Board of Directors. Mike has been selected by his peers and clients for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America and New York Super Lawyers for a number of years, and he was named among the Top 25 Attorneys in Westchester County in Super Lawyers several times.
Anita and Mike join Goldberg Segalla partner Dennis P. Glascott, who became a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America in 2009.
