Daniela Weiss focuses her practice on workers’ compensation defense, with experience that includes representing clients in all types of workers’ compensation litigation before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board.

In addition to workers’ compensation litigation, Daniela’s background includes working as Assistant Corporation Counsel in the Office of the Albany Corporation Counsel, which acts as legal advisor to Albany’s mayor, its Common Council, and to the Officers, Boards, and Commissioners of the city. In enforcing a wide array of city laws, Daniela advised the Board of Zoning Appeals, the Planning Board, and the Reapportionment Commission, acting as lead counsel in judicial and administrative proceedings and prosecuting 10 trials to verdict.

Before and during law school, Daniela held a number of internships, including in the New York State Governor’s Office, where she drafted 10-day memoranda for pending legislation, researched and analyzed various areas of law for Governor’s counsel, and attended negotiations with State Senate and Assembly staff. As a legal intern with the Hon. Lawrence E. Kahn in U.S. District Court, Daniela researched and wrote opinions on issues including employment discrimination, Social Security, and the First Amendment. She also held internships in the New York State Attorney General’s Office — in its Legislative Bureau — and in the New York State Assembly, where she worked for Assemblywoman Helene Weinstein, the Chair of the Assembly Judiciary Committee.

Daniela earned her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law, where she won the CALI Award for Intellectual Property.
