Goldberg Segalla partner Laura Colca highlighted what contractors need to know when building semiconductor factories in the United States while discussing the CHIPS Act with Construction Dive. In order to safeguard their interests and present competitive bids, Laura underscored the significance of certain contractual components.

Laura emphasized the necessity of incorporating key elements into contractors’ documentation to bolster their bids and shield themselves. “A well-drafted work schedule is essential,” said Laura. “Builders should strive for a work schedule that is clear, concise and straightforward as this makes compliance easier and keeps all parties accountable for the project’s progress.”

Laura also stressed proactive risk management. “One final area that should not be overlooked is risk management and liability protection,” she said.
