Michael Kurtis focuses his practice on reinsurance litigation and arbitration, and insurance coverage litigation with an emphasis on general liability, E&O, professional liability, environmental contamination, and natural catastrophe claims. He provides coverage analysis and regulatory compliance advice to domestic and international insurers and reinsurers. Mike also advises them on issues pertaining to contract preparation.

A frequent writer and speaker on insurance and reinsurance topics, Mike is actively involved in the investigation and evaluation of novel and developing issues, and their potential impact on the insurance and reinsurance industry. He has published articles and presented on various issues of importance, including the implications of hydraulic fracturing, the role of the Federal Insurance Office in the U.S. and global reinsurance market, supply chain and contingent business interruption issues arising from natural catastrophes, the domestic and global implications of Solvency II, and compliance with U.S. sanctions and restrictions enforced by the Office of Foreign Asset Control.
