Fire Litigation Practice Group
Goldberg Segalla's Fire Litigation Practice Group has a nationally-recognized team of attorneys experienced in the defense of all types of litigation arising out of and involving fire.
We serve as national and coordinating counsel for both closely-held and Fortune 500 companies whose products have been accused of causing fires. We represent insureds and insurers in fire litigation ranging from large loss subrogation defense to arson to catastrophic burn injury and death actions.
Our most experienced trial lawyers have litigation fire and burn injury cases and represented our clients throughout the United States. We have considerable experience in the investigation of fire claims, having accompanied experts to numerous fire scene investigations and product inspections. Simply put, we crawl around and get our hands dirty at fire scenes whenever possible so that there is no detail we cannot fully and knowledgeably confront in the case. We also get deeply involved with our clients' products so that we have a thorough understanding of product design and function, together with the underlying scientific principals necessary to debunk the experts offered by our adversaries. We take pride in confronting "experts" who have less familiarity with our clients' products than we do.
We maintain close contact with the best defense experts around the country, and team our clients with those experts who adhere to scientific principles and methodologies. We have contributed to numerous publication addressing fire litigation and the exclusion of "junk science" experts.
Our Fire Litigation Practice Group leaders have served on national committees and organization dedicated to the defense of fire litigation. We have chaired the Defense Research Institute's Product Liability Committee, its Fire and Casualty Specialized Litigation Group, its Children's Products Specialized Litigation Group, and have chaired and lectured at the annual seminars of this organization.
