Annette Lucas Joins Goldberg Segalla

Goldberg Segalla is pleased to announce that Annette J. Lucas has joined the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Practice Group in White Plains. Annette focuses her practice on the defense of a wide range of workers’ compensation claims and has extensive experience as a civil litigator. She also represents clients in medical malpractice and tort claims, among others.

Before entering private practice, Annette spent several years as Assistant Corporation Counsel in the Tort Division of the New York City Law Department’s Manhattan Trial Unit. In that position, she defended the city in a variety of litigation, tried cases as first- and second-chair trial attorney, picked juries, negotiated settlements, and wrote and argued motions, among other duties.

With an undergraduate background in international business and marketing, Annette traveled to Sierra Leone before law school, where she was a personnel assistant in the country’s Special Court for Sierra Leone, located in Freetown, its capital. While attending Pace University School of Law, where she earned her J.D., cum laude, in 2007, Annette studied abroad at the University College London, Faculty of Laws and held an Apprenticeship with a Chambers in London. While a law student, she also served as an intern with Trial Chamber III in the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in the Netherlands, where she assisted judges and legal officers in the trial management of the Prosecutor v. Slobodan Milosevic case.
