Goldberg Segalla Announces Second Florida Expansion

Just six weeks after announcing it entered the Florida market by opening an office in Orlando, international law firm Goldberg Segalla is once again making waves — this time in the southern portion of the state, where its 18th and 19th offices are now open for business in West Palm Beach and Miami.

The offices will be launched by a team of lawyers led by Rodney Janis, a nationally recognized litigator and trial lawyer whose wide-ranging legal practice includes insurance and reinsurance, employment and labor, construction, and professional liability. Mr. Janis, who will principally be resident in the firm’s Miami office, has assumed the role of Regional Administrative Partner for Florida and will be working very closely with Richard J. Cohen, Goldberg Segalla’s Managing Partner.

Mr. Cohen noted that the firm’s expansion into South Florida is emblematic of how it has grown since first opening its doors in 2001: strategic, driven by client demand, and led by extraordinary lawyers whose values closely align with its team-first philosophy and culture of inclusion. All of Goldberg Segalla’s practice groups will expand into its new locations, he said.

“Establishing a presence in South Florida serves to complement our Orlando office and further strengthen our position in the Southeastern U.S.,” Mr. Cohen said. “We expect all three locations in the state to grow quickly, but with the same core purpose and mission that has driven us from the beginning: to provide exceptional service to our clients in key markets across the country.”

Mr. Cohen added, “Rod is a highly regarded attorney admitted in five states, and whose stellar reputation for excellence in Florida and beyond will serve as a tremendous asset for us as we move forward. We are very fortunate to have Rod and his team join our firm.”

“Goldberg Segalla’s high standards and principles — built on the idea that success in the legal profession isn’t defined by an individual’s achievements, but by what a team accomplishes together — are as compelling as they are different,” said Mr. Janis. “This is truly an exciting time for all of us.”

The firm’s expansion into South Florida caps off a dynamic period of growth for Goldberg Segalla, which has opened five new offices since the beginning of the year. In early February, the firm announced locations in Orlando, in Baltimore, Maryland, and in Newark, New Jersey.

Joining Mr. Janis in South Florida are partners Michael W. Switzer, Gabriel Z. Coelho, Maura F. Krause, and Tania Williams; special counsel Oscar E. Sanchez; and associates Catherine W. Higgins, Allison Jaeger, Douglas T. Johnson, and Megan A. McNamara.
