Melissa’s experience includes drafting employment policies, employment and severance agreements, and communications to employees on behalf of her clients. At Goldberg Segalla, Melissa’s practice focuses on representing employers and businesses in a broad range of matters, and helps them stay abreast of their rights and responsibilities under laws governing family and medical leave, wage and hour, unions, anti-discrimination, and whistleblowers. She frequently appears before the New Jersey Public Employment Relations Commission, the United States Department of Education’s Division on Civil Rights, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
During law school at Seton Hall University — where she was the Comment Editor of the Seton Hall Law Review and earned the Chancellor Scholarship — Melissa held a judicial internship with the Hon. Freda L. Wolfson in U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. After she earned her J.D. in 2012, she clerked for the Hon. Georgia M. Curio in the Superior Court of New Jersey, where she researched and drafted memoranda on complex civil matters and mediated Special Civil Part disputes.
