Experience
A seasoned litigator, Lynn A. Lehnert applies her extensive training and experience in biology, chemistry and physics to the practice areas of product liability and toxic torts. She has worked on complex federal-state herbicide class actions as well as asbestos matters. Lynn’s environmental experience also includes silica and diacetyl exposures as well as water contamination issues.
In addition to her scientific training, Lynn draws on experience from an externship with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency where she worked on matters involving the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Recovery Act (CERCLA); Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA); Clean Water Act (CWA); and various federal regulations.
While in law school, Lynn focused her studies on energy law, patent law, and the emerging issue of gene patents. She had the unique experience of working on the Human Genome Project for two years as a laboratory assistant. Her knowledge and technical skill bring a distinct advantage to clients in matters involving complex scientific disputes and enable her to communicate these issues effectively to clients and the court.
As a law student intern, Lynn served as a Prosecutor for the City of Chicago Department of Law. Before entering private practice, she served as an Assistant Missouri Public Defender, handling a full caseload of felony, misdemeanor, and juvenile matters.
Lynn also frequently writes about asbestos litigation for Goldberg Segalla’s award-winning Asbestos Case Tracker, which has been ranked in the ABA Journal’s prestigious Blawg 100 and named the Best Litigation Blog by the Expert Institute in its annual legal blog contest.
